Business groups want the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to bring forward this year's federal election and scrap proposed legislation they believe will hurt Australian industries.
Tony Shepherd from the Business Council of Australia says ongoing instability within the Labor Party has rattled business confidence. "A change in leadership doesn't fix confidence," he said.And that's what is needed. An improvement, a dramatic improvement in confidence. What we need is a change in policy.Mr Shepherd also called on Mr Rudd to bring the forward the election, which is currently scheduled for September 14, to provide business with greater certainty. "What we need to do is to get to the polls quickly and just get this whole thing sorted out," he said
